'Pint-Sized has introduced British theatre to a wealth of new writing talent from across the country'

- Hannah Campbell, David Higham Associates

How to apply:

Email your piece to pintsizedplays@gmail.com by 11pm on June 27th.

  • Pieces should be 10-15 minutes, either stand-alone shorts or excerpts from longer work.

  • Only one piece submitted per writer.

  • No need for pieces to fit a particular theme or genre; if it’s good writing, we’re interested in it.

  • No need to sell yourself in a cover letter - we read the plays separately from your emails.

  • Everything we offer is free; if you’re trying to submit and come across a page asking you to pay, you’re looking at Pint-Sized Plays, based in Wales, who are lovely and good people, but aren’t us.

Who should send us work?

  • You should. No matter who you are, whether you feel like a writer or not, we’d love to read your work.

  • Pint-Sized is committed to a more representative industry, and works alongside companies led by artists of colour, and disabled artists, around the country, along with partners like the Young Vic’s Fresh Direction scheme.

  • If you feel like you’re not getting a fair break in the industry, we’d like to be a part of the solution; it doesn’t mean we’ll automatically choose your work, but it does mean we’ll try to support you however we can - always for free, and never with any obligation from you.

Feel free to get in touch with any questions; we're happy to lend advice, help or support throughout the process, so do get in touch if you need anything.

All the best, and have a lovely summer,

Pint-Sized
